JISE 2019 FALL, Shanghai: Education – From Present to Future

Late October comes with the cool weather and anxious parents. Although the new school year has only just begun, the parents in of school age kids are growing impatient. For them, this is a time to find the ideal school for their child and gather as much information on the education from every channel as possible. It’s every parent’s dream for their child to be well-prepared and successfully embark on this new chapter of their lives.
 
On Oct 20, JingKids International School Expo 2019 FALL, Shanghai (JISE) was held at St. Regis Hotel. The event attracted more than 2500 families. This time, with the theme “Education for the Future”, JISE provided parents with zero distance communication opportunities with their dream schools and also brought in some new ideas about education – cultivating the ability that benefits children for life through rational planning.
 
Over 50 Attending Schools and Institutions

JISE aims to help foreign and Chinese families living in Shanghai find high-quality international education that meets their needs when it comes to choosing schools for their kids.
The idea of “choosing ‘the best school’ means choosing the school that best suits your child,” JISE attracted more than 50 well-known Shanghai international and bilingual schools as well as institutions. Parents with children of all ages had the opportunity to meet many of their dream schools in one convenient location. Meanwhile, the institutions specializing in the fields of academics, sports, drama, dance, field trip, and overseas study, providing parents with even more choice in their pursuit of the best for their children.

4 Forums with 19 Educators Answer Parents’ Most Pressing Concerns

Echoing on the theme of “Education for the Future”, four educational forums at the event invited parents for face-to-face sessions with educators.
How does today’s education prepare children for the future? How to make a systematic plan for college entrance? What should preschool stage parents focus on to cultivate a successful child ? How do parents to help kids find their passion outside of school?
Confronted with parents’ concerns, JISE invited 5 principals from Harrow International School Shanghai, Shanghai Vanke Bilingual School, Nord Anglia Chinese International School Shanghai, Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou, High School of Concordia International School Shanghai, and other 14 senior educators and teachers for 4 forums: Main Forum, Education Planning Forum, Early Years Forum, and Holistic Education Forum – each providing parents with educational information covering all school age and groups.

15 Students Bring a High-quality Speech Show

JISE also gave students from different schools the opportunity to showcase their talents. After two rounds of selection, 15 students from Nord Anglia Chinese International School Shanghai, Shanghai Huili School, North Cross School Shanghai, Shanghai Pinghe School, and Shanghai Foreign Language School were selected to make their speech on the stage at “Shape the Future” JingKids English Speech Show.
Judges from NSDA, SpeechCraft, McMillan Education, and JingKids all gave their professional feedback help the students excel in the future speeches.
Finally, Ms. Lillian Fu from Nord Anglia Chinese International School Shanghai got the Astronaut Award and the study program provided by Sentimus.

Workshop and Performance Go Beyond Academics

Drama, because of its ability to develop language, music, dance, and other skills, has become a popular choice for parents to cultivate their children’s comprehensive quality. This time, JISE invited EarlyBirds to hold a parent-child workshop. Through this fun experience, director Katherine, gave parents a hands-on practice of how creative drama can help children learn to express themselves.
Before the afternoon’s forums, children from iStage Academy performed amazing musical.
The performance at the International School Expo was designed to soothe parental anxiety about school choice. The kids’ performance showed that the school choice is only the starting point and cultivating the ability that benefits children for life is what parents should do. 
The site selection, booth arrangement, and content arrangement of Shanghai JISE are well planned. Volunteers and information desks provided a comfortable experience for parents. Circle Harmony Health provided real-time medical services. The Visitors’ Guide, issued on site, acts as a supplementary material for parents to obtain the latest, and most accurate and most authoritative information on the schools.
Jingkids will continue to pay close attention to cutting-edge international education topics, provide timely and accurate school information and Open Day activities for parents, and feedback parents’ concerns and expectations to the schools. As an effective communication platform connecting both parties, Jingkids continues to make unremitting efforts to live up to the expectations of parents and their children!
